According to the Guinness Book of World's Records the world's smallest island with a building on it is Bishop Rock at the end of Britain's Isles of Scilly, with a large lighthouse atop it.        Source

Dale of Diamond Springs replied:
The smallest island in the world - according to the Guinness Book of Records - is Bishop Rock. It lies at the most south-westerly part of the United Kingdom. It is one of 1040 islands around Britain and only has a lighthouse on it. Seems like a good place to send some members of Congress --- and leave them there!!!

The announcement comes two weeks after all three series posted record ratings with their season premieres.

All three series have also showed year-to-year growth with their current seasons, with the third season of "Shameless" growing 22 percent over its previous season so far, "House of Lies" averaging 10 percent over its first season and "Californication" showing a 21 percent boost over its fifth season so far.

That's All

21 Calories

Burning love apparently does not equate to burning fat. A new study from the University of Alabama at Birmingham claims that the average sex act only burns about 21 calories.

The study, published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine, contradicts many long standing claims that sexual activity is a vigorous, fat-burning workout. Funded in part by the National Institutes of Health, the study results found, "False and scientifically unsupported beliefs about obesity are pervasive in both scientific literature and the popular press."

Most online claims about the calorie burning potential of sexual activity are based on one-hour increments, whereas this study worked off an average timespan of six minutes per sexual encounter.

The study's director, Dr. David Allison, who also serves as the university's director of its Nutrition Obesity Research Center, tested a number of theories in his study, including whether physical education classes actually improved a child's health and weather skipping breakfast or snacking contributed to weight gain.

Found On English Beach

Ambergris

Just because something's gross doesn't mean it isn't valuable. Case in point: Whale vomit. A man taking his dog for a walk on the beach came across a pile of (maybe! hopefully!) whale regurgitation. Now he could stand to make more than $50,000 from the find.

Who would pay tens of thousands of dollars for whale excrement? The perfume industry, of course. The substance, while foul smelling when it first hits land, becomes much more pleasant as it dries in the sun-and can be used to help prolong the scent of perfume.

According to the BBC, Ken Wilman's dog began sniffing the substance (known as ambergris) while walking on Morecambe beach in England. Wilman went to investigate, picked up the stone-like object, gave it a whiff and then dropped it like a bad habit. Wilman told the BBC: "When I picked it up and smelled it, I put it back down again and I thought 'urgh.'"

Wilman left the beach, but something about his stinky discovery stayed in his mind. He did a little research at home and figured out that it was likely ambergris. He then went back to the beach and retrieved the seven-pound object. A French dealer has already offered more than $50,000.

Surrealist Auction

Salvador Dali

Salvador Dali's portrait of a New York style icon and Joan Miro's homage to his Catalan roots are going on sale at a London auction of surrealist masterpieces.

Dali's 1943 "Portrait of Mrs. Harrison Williams" will go under the hammer Tuesday with an estimated price of between 1.5 million and 2 million pounds ($2.4 million and $3.2 million).

Dali painted the ultra-rich and super-stylish socialite - who later became Countess Mona Bismarck - barefoot and dressed in black rags.

Also for sale is Miro's 1936 "The Farmer and His Wife," a vibrant portrait of human figures and barnyard animals, valued between 5.5 million pounds and 7.5 million pounds ($8.7 million to $11.9 million).

Geraldo Rivera says he's seriously thinking about running for U.S. Senate in New Jersey.

Rivera, who hosts a weekend show on Fox News Channel, said Thursday on his daily radio show on WABC-AM in New York that he's "truly contemplating" becoming a candidate. He says he has spoken to some people in the New Jersey GOP about a run.

Rivera asked his 30,000 Twitter followers how they feel about him challenging either Sen. Frank Lautenberg or Newark Mayor Cory Booker.

No Republican has formally announced an interest in running.

Gets Probation

Randy Travis

Randy Travis pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated Thursday in a case that began last summer when the naked country music star crashed his Pontiac Trans Am.

Travis received a 180-day suspended jail sentence, 24 months of probation and a $2,000 fine. He was ordered to spend at least 30 days at an alcohol treatment facility, complete 100 hours of community service and have an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he operates while on probation.

Travis, 53, entered the plea in a court in the North Texas city of Sherman. The misdemeanor was punishable by up to two years in jail and a $4,000 fine.

Authorities have said a Trans Am registered to Travis veered off a road Aug. 7 near Tioga, a town about 60 miles north of Dallas where the entertainer lives. The car struck several barricades in a construction zone.

Travis was found naked and combative at the scene, with a blood alcohol level of more than 0.15, investigators said. The legal limit for driving is 0.08.

Hindu holy men of the Juna Akhara sect participate in rituals that is believed to rid them of all ties in this life and dedicate themselves to serving God as a 'Naga' or naked holy men, after taking dips at Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges and Yamuna River during the Maha Kumbh festival in Allahabad, India, early Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. The significance of nakedness is that they will not have any worldly ties to material belongings, even something as simple as clothes. This ritual that transforms selected holy men to Naga can only be done at the Kumbh festival.

Employee Lets Loose

HMV

An employee apparently fired from music retailer HMV has let loose on the company's Twitter feed to compare ongoing layoffs to a "mass execution."

The rogue messages - which immediately attracted media attention - started with a missive saying "we're tweeting live from HR where we're all being fired! Exciting!!"

The person's identity wasn't clear but Twitter messages came from the company's verified account, suggesting that an employee was responsible. The message was later removed.

HMV, Britain's last big music retailer, entered a form of bankruptcy protection earlier this month. The company had been steadily losing business to Internet music downloads.

Suit Dismissed

Hebrew Nat'l Hot Dogs

ConAgra Foods Inc has won the dismissal of a lawsuit filed by consumers claiming the company's Hebrew National hot dogs and other products are not kosher.

U.S. District Judge Donovan Frank in St. Paul federal court ruled on Thursday that he does not have jurisdiction over a dispute that he described as "intrinsically religious in nature."

Eleven consumers filed the lawsuit last May, asserting that ConAgra misled customers into believing that its products were kosher according to "the most stringent" Orthodox Jewish standards by including a symbol on its packaging.

The lawsuit alleged that ConAgra's contractors, meat processor AER Services Inc and kosher supervisor Triangle K, failed to follow proper religious procedures. The plaintiffs sought unspecified damages and an injunction against the labels as well as class-action status for consumers who have bought Hebrew National products since 2008.

But Frank said he was constrained by clear Supreme Court precedent barring civil judges from resolving faith-based disputes.

Welcome!

You have reached the Home page of BartCop Entertainment.
Make yourself home, take your shoes off...
Go ahead, scratch it if it itches.

The idea is to have fun.

Do you have something to say?
Anything that increased your blood pressure, or, even better, amused or entertained?

Do you have a great album no one's heard?
How about a favorite TV show, movie, book, play, cartoon, or legal amusement?
A popular artist that just plain pisses you off?
A box set the whole world should own?
Vile, filthy rumors about Republican hypocrites?
Just plain vile, filthy rumors?

In other words, submissions are welcome.
